Sukhmani & Paul
24 December 2014
Having been on the Shaadi website for many years now, I always read and re-read the success stories of all those couples and knew that fate is forged here. Mine was determined on a cold winter day in January 2014, when a chance acceptance of a beautifully heart felt profile was the start-point of a new chapter in my life; meeting my life partner, Paul. He is a native of England and I have lived all my life in India until this point, He was new to the website and had just enrolled when he initiated contact with me and I accepted it. What followed was a roller-coaster ride that threw us both off balance given our instant connect and urge to communicate 24-7 from that day on-wards. We discovered how similar our likes, dislikes, values and personalities were. We marveled that we enjoyed the same taste in food, movies, books and travel. We were spellbound that we always had something to talk about. It was a true bonus that we both were also Sikh and had great respect for our religion and culture. Many phone calls and text messages later, (two months to be precise) Paul visited me in Delhi, in April 2014. When I saw him for the first time, it felt I had always known him. He later on confessed that he had made up his mind to spend the rest of his life with me, the day he met me. He proposed to me within a week of meeting me, on a bent knee and a ring in tow. Our families met soon thereafter, both in Delhi as well as in England, where I spent some lovely days with his family. We were married under the Sikh rites on 5th October 2014 in NOIDA, India. I want to truly thank the Shaadi team for lending us both a helping hand to seal our fates. For all those who will be reading this story, it is all about faith and sincere efforts on this website, and you never know - fate is perhaps knocking on your door, and is a mouse-click away!
